Imperial Jasper is found in Zacatecas, Mexico about 50 miles north of the city of Guadalajara. Often reported as coming from Jalisco, the deposits are actually just north of the border between Jalisco and Zacatecas. It is found on the east slope of a steep canyon covered with vegetation along Highway 23.  Imperial Jasper color varies from deep greens to pastel pinks and gray.  Like most jaspers, it shows bands and patterns that are as beautiful as they are interesting.  Imperial jasper is one of the great true porcelain jaspers in the world. Each of these Imperial Jasper Beads has a high fine polish, beautiful natural coloration, bandings and markings.

April reorganization

Chisa and I worked really hard to reorganize the store this weekend!  We opened up the front of the house to be more spacious, the bead room is well...roomier and the glass show room is just great!  We found a whole lot of items we are putting on sale at 50% off to make room for new merchandise- a lot of great tools and supplies.  If you were thinking of getting into mosaic, now is the time to get your supplies!  All of our mosaic glass tiles and kits are on sale.

 

Into the West

The Irish are famous for their love of horses- although it was a social commentary, Into the West featured a wonderful horse in the movie.  So I am celebrating March and horses this week with our Bit O' Brass running mustangs and Prancing Pony charms.  The Brass mustangs are stampings so one sided, they are great for charms, pendants and design elements.  The prancing ponies are charms, lead free pewter plated with 22K gold from our friends at TierraCast.  As usual, I search to find companies that manufacture here in the USA, sometimes we have no choice, so I look for Quality merchandise from family owned companies that distribute or supply the materials I need that are owned and operated in the United States.  Most of my suppliers are family owned business that have been in the jewelry supply business for over 50 years.  Some are relatively new companies, 15 years or so. My Silver and gold mill products, wire, sheet and casting comes from a company here in the United States that recycles-so NO NEW MINING! A Bit o' Brass for March

Think Spring!

I love the cold beauty of last nights snowfall.  However, it is keeping us closed today.  I want everyone to stay safe.  I knwo the roads in town may be ok, but out here in the sticks we are still waiting for the plows!.  Maybe the county is figuring it will melt by tomorrow, so save money and don't plow.  I can see their point.  I took this picture this morning, I hope you enjoy it!

 

PROM TIME IS HERE!!!

Prom is upon us once again. I am thrilled to see so many return customers this year!  I will host a Design event for prom this year.  Bring your dress to event April 9 and 10 from 11am-6pm to design jewelry and hair ornaments to match your dress.  Appointments are advised, but walk-ins welcomed!

Kadie is in college now and very successful, she is wearing earrings she designed from swarovski crystal and sterling silver matching the colors in her gown.
